I believe in striving for the correct breed type and conformation so necessary for show Champions. I am proud that there are many champions in our breed who also have working titles. We are not a breed like some sporting breeds, who have a "field type" and a "show type" making it hard to recognise the two types as one breed. But I digress........

Every bit as important as disposition, is soundness and health. Our pedigrees have many generations of OFA certified stock. Only dogs with normal hips as certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals www.OFFA.org, the GDC or PENNhip have been used. Most of the dogs have had their elbows certified also, and have been CERFed (certified free of hereditary eye diseases). NO breeder can guarantee that a defect will not appear, but we try our best to see that it won’t happen.

I am a long-time member of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America and the BMDC of Southeastern Wisconsin and adhere to their codes of ethics. We also actively train with the Oshkosh Kennel Club.
